On the front lines
The people that you will see most often are what a lot of
people call guides but as we all know they have much bigger
jobs than simply guiding.
Theresa. Quite simply the most experienced
guide in the UAE. Theresa has been working out here since
the late 70's, there is nothing she doesnt know about the
country.
Whilst she hates anything that looks like officework, she
will run the most organised hospitality desk (she's German),
check the coaches, calm ruffled feathers, de-stress anyone
and everyone, and all this before breakfast.
During the Arabic Night she is our fortune teller who has
been known to bring men to tears as she finds their hidden
secrets!
Saeed. Originally from the Yemen, Saeed
has been working with us in one way or another for over fifteen
years. Like alot of people from the GCC he takes his history
and culture very very seriously indeed. What we also find
amazing about him is his awareness; he notices things that
we would normally gloss over and insists on going the extra
mile no matter how trivial it is.
Dorrit Wagner is one of who we call our
European people, in as much as that when we have more people
than we can handle here by ourselves in comes our Dorrit from
Germany. Another person that has years in Dubai under her
belt. Aside from having previously been a guide and a Safari
driver she's now a professional freelance Tour Director, she
has a unique sense of humour that never ceases to amaze!
Pat Hollis another European person that
many of you know.. Pat used to be the director of Sales and
Marketing at the Jebel Ali hotel. Can you think of a better
person to have behind you in a hotel. She is also successfully
working as a freelance Tour Director now, but like Dorrit
is more than happy to come 'back home' to the UAE and Oman.
There are many more people - Nicola Chater
for example - who as the groups get bigger appear suitcase
in hand ready to step in and get the job done... like we said
before... professionals one and all, bringing with them...
peace of mind.
