Wadis and Mountains

There is a beautiful off road drive to Sur which is a lovely old town.

We leave the hotel early(ish) and drive offroad along the coast road. The scenery is breathtaking, with the mountains on one side and the blue ocean on the other. We can stop along the way for a short break and to eat some of the goodies we brought with us.

One of the visual lighlights is Wadid Tiwi which is full of water, with a small village on one side - now there is a bridge over to the village, but before the children used to come and pick the guests up in small boats - and the wadi stretches out almost as far as you can see.

We then take a winding road again thru the wadi and along the coastline to Sur and have lunch before returning back in time for tea!

Again we need to take the four wheel drive vehicles - this is an excursion to almost literally the top of the world. We wind up the mountain, with time for photo-stops along the way, and then, almost in the clouds we reach the summit with the most spectacular of views, and enjoy a picnic lunch while we take in the natural beauty of the surroundings, before driving back to the hotel, again in time for tea.
