Omani Night

The Al Bustan Palace has a site which when it is viewed in its natural state looks about as inviting as a military installation - however when we have decorated and added the unique Omani entertainment it is a lively and very enjoyable evening, and totally different in both content and menu to the Arabic Nights in Dubai. The guests sit on the floor on comfortable cusions in small designated carpeted areas - and are served an almost endless choice of typical Omani dishes.

The Omani national costumes are also different to the ones that they may or may not have received in the UAE and honestly speaking more worthy of packing up and taking home! We can give these out during the day preceeding the dinner from a designated area in the hotel and they are asked to wear them in the evening. They all meet up for a pre-dinner cocktail and a good ice breaking giggle at each other - and then they are shuttled on coaches to the site for the evening. Here they find the area transformed with sympathetic lighting, the singers are welcoming them - and there is a small souk set up and henna ladies and the hubble bubble area. Arabic Music is playing to enhance the atmosphere - and the guests take a drink and then basically their evening moves along at a pace set by them as each of the designated areas is served independantly. At a certain point the belly dancer appears to entertain them further and after her show, strangely in this setting we would not suggest that there is any need for european entertainment.

The most important thing you have to remember here is that it is a completly different evening to the Arabic night that you have probably done..

s you have probably gathered all the way through these pages we try to stress how totally different the Omani way is, however it is a completly new experience.
