Indian Night
There is a very large Indian community in all of the gulf states, but moreso in Oman. In fact due to the rather prolific slave trade that went on in the last century the origins of the Omanis are very mixed from Zanzibar to India.
The Indian cuisine as practically everyone knows is endless in it's diversification, however let us never forget that there is a big difference between Indians cooking for Europeans and Indians cooking for Indians - altogether a different experience and one that will make you question the origins of your local late night curry when you get home.
So, whilst you may think that it's a strange theme to choose, you are in fact enhancing your whole Oman experience by experiencing true Indian Cuisine in convivial surroundings. The venue that we would recommend above all others, for good food, good service and great atmosphere sits on top of a hill overlooking the city therefore affording magnificent views.
When they arrive they will be greeted in the traditional way with a spot on the forehead and a selection of canapes and drinks before they go into dinner. Unobtrusive sitar music with a gentle (yes it is possible to have gentle Indian singing) as a background to the seemingly endless selection of dishes that they enjoy for dinner. With smaller groups it really isn't necessary to take this venue exclusively as a few of locals always help with the atmosphere!
