Culture.

This word does not have to strike fear into incentive planners. Trust us - if you have a group of people who are interested in the country they are visiting, even if we just include this on an 'options' day, we guarantee that they will be pleased that we did!

As they will no doubt have an orientation of Muscat as a 'must have' in the programme then we highly recommend that we try to include a visit to Nizwa as well.

This is a pretty long day and we need to start out early, in order to arrive in Nizwa before the market closes, so we start out at around 7am - no problem they can have another little snooze on the coach. We can also take some danish pastries for them to enjoy along the way!

First stop then is the animal market, which is a real step back in time as the locals gather to sell off their goats, sheep, camels, anything with 4 legs basically - the haggling is great to watch.

Then we move to the souks, to catch them at their busiest, the silver souks in Muscat are ledgendary and there are always really good antiques to be seen and bought.

Then we move onto one of the forts (the diehards would do both forts but we suggest only one), with the Italian and English frescoes on the walls which have been painstakingly restored, along with the real signs of life as it used to be this is an honest step back in time that the guets can experience.

Lunch in the Nizwa Motel, which was built to celebrate Oman National Day 4 years ago and then a gentle drive back to the hotel arriving in time for tea!

Unlike the driving in the UAE, the route is interesting and informative, especially with out guides in control, they dont drown the guests in dates and dry information, but interesting amusing stories of how the history of the area has unfolded down the ages.
