The Crowne Plaza Hotel
Rooms - 200
Restaurants and bars - 4
Conference Space - 800m2 total approx
Wendy and I often argue about which of the two hotels, the
Al Bustan or the Crown Plaza has the best location.... I'll
go for the crowne plaza, but that's just opinion.
This was originally the Gulf Hotel, and was truely ready
for somebody to come and DO something with it - and so now
we have the totally new Crowne Plaza - adding to the Intercontintal's
family of hotels in Muscat.
Crowne Plaze or Holiday Inn, we accept that the base line
is usually the same, however it commands a great position,
and is very useful for extra rooms for larger groups, and
they seem to have broken the mold on this one as it is a very
good property.
It has four restaurants Shiraz, Persian restaurant and Come
Prima, an Italian Restaurant, they then have the standard
all day dining restaurant and a very nice bar called Dukes.
Meeting Space at a glance
Not as much as the Bustan, Intercon and Hyatt but enough
and it's very very nice too.
The Al Maha room is only 120m2 but splits into two rooms
of 62m2 each
We then have two smaller rooms one of 12m2 and one of 187m2
Finally their main ballroom is about 500m2 which is great
for up to 350 people for dinner and around 250 for a classroom
style meeting.
Notes
On the face of things The Crowne Plaza isn't really as classy
as many of the other hotels in Muscat..... but
it does have a certain something, for a smaller group of couples
it would definatly be worth looking at. Downloads
