Cruises
Thankfully Dhows are not the only way there is to float about
on the Creek. For many years Dhows were simply the only thing
that we could use and to be honest.. they are very limiting..
unless you know how to use them.
Dhows
We generally use these for cocktail receptions either during
the day.. or in the evening preceeding dinner. The problem
with Dhows are that they are made from wood, this really means
that the level of cooking we can do on board is very small.
Hence most dinners on Dhows are buffets and to put it mildly
are borning. One way that we can use a Dhow effectily is to
have an Arabic night on board... and before you ask Arabic
nights are actually not tied to being in the desert. Remember
that the history of the UAE people is pearl fishing, so in
fact this is probably the most traditional way of having a
true Arabic dinner.
Bateaux Dubai
This is the newest addition to the flotilla of craft that
zoom up and down the Creek when the sun goes down. It's a
copy of the boats that are currently in use on the Seine in
Paris.. very modern, very well done and very good food. The
chef hails from the orient express and while it's not cheap
to use it is exceptionaly good.
Danat Dubai
Another large boat, Danat while not as stylish as the Batauex
Dubai is more designed for lesiue mornings with lunch on board..
once chartered Danat is one of the few vessels that can leave
the creek and go out on the open sea.
Theimage
Not a spelling mistake, theimage is a small luxury sailing
catermeran ideal for 20 people we can either pull alongside
a restaurant for lunch or bring it with us.
