Burj Al Arab
An amazing place for dinner, really the most amazing experience...either in the ballroom that is remiscent of the Titanic, or in one of the private rooms,
but please don't expect it to be cheap.. Menu prices start
at about Dhs 650 and the drinks are equally as dear, and at the present time they have brought in a nice little facility charge as well, but that will hopefully disappear again with the next management change!
It is quite simply the definition of the term Gala Dinner... the
food here is brilliant the chefs and the Director of Banquets
are some of the most creative people that the city has.. and
as for themeing, well you simply don't need it.
The problem that we used to have was that programmes would
be constructed with the Arabic night
generally on either the second or third day of the programme
it was supposed to be the "nearly peaking" dinner..
the gala dinner the next night was supposed to be the winning
night.
Sadly it never worked like that, the Arabic night nearly
always blew the Gala dinner in terms of "what was your
favorite moment?" Now however we have something to rival
it.
There's not really much else to say about this except that
if you want to finish your programme in style.. this fits.
