Burj Al Arab
Rooms: 202 (Maximum rooms we can get - 100)
Conference space: 1000m2
Location: Jumeriah
Description:
The Burj is probably percieved by many as being one of the
finest hotels in the world. It is certainly the property that everyone wants to be able to say they have been to. Regarding the 'Best in the world' we think it depends how you look
at it.. it's certainly not for everyone. The decor is in your
face in a big way, but surprisingly you do get used to
it, and if you can manage to disconnect all of the 13 odd
phones before you go to bed you'll get a great nights sleep.
It is, without doubt, an experience to stay in this property,
but... Dont be surprised if you are suddenly surrounded by
several tour groups with their cameras pointed at you snapping
away just in case you might be a celebrity (which kind of
shows the level of the tour groups we are talking about).
It's a harsh fact, but no matter how much we complain it continues
to happen - so now we have warned you!
Their forte is definitely their food.... why? Well that is our secret!
The other thing that they are very good at are smaller meetings,
the hotel offering a really quiet places to get away from everything
. However we should warn you.. again...of the hoards
of tourists that traipse through the place on a daily basis.
Ideal Programme Placement:
Ideal Group size 30 to 100 although you can push it a bit
further than that.
Delegate Profile upper to top management type guests (as these are the ones with the required budget), any
age and they will definitely want to come with with partners
(either willingly or unwilling)...and some people say ideal
for a group that are collectivly visually challenged.
The Burj is good for any group profile - but what they all need is a serious
budget!
Programming
The Burj is a great hotel, the levels of service on the accommodation floors, and in the Conference and Banqueting, are quite exceptional (and so they should be!)
And when you are fainting over their rates, consider that even though you are looking
at upwards of about Dhs 3,000 per night.. bear in mind that all the rooms
are duplex and over 200m2 each. Divide that all out and
based on size ironically they are in fact the cheapest rooms
in Dubai.
